I’m not a fan of the iphone. In fact i’m kind of fed up with the mass direction apple is going.. But this iphone app by Record makers is making me revise my all anti-iphone position… Record makers are a French independent label and they asked artists Mrzyk & Moriceau to brand their 10th birthday. Mrzyk & Moriceau created this beautiful iPhone app inwhich you can create random art by swiping different parts of the drawing.

The Letterpress Dice process

The compositions are built by arranging between 720 dice and 1,147 on the bed of the press, and ink was rolled directly onto the face of the die for each impression. They are printed on a very light green japanese handmade paper called Kitakata, which has a deckle on all four edges.

The size are between 8½” x 11″ and 22″x26″

the CELL CLUSTER SYSTEM

Cells grow until colliding with another.
Cells which have stopped growing bud new cells. The system gradually fills up the space.
With the mouse, cells can be added and removed to sculpt the growing form.

Powers of Ten is a 1968 short documentary film written and directed by Charles Eames and Ray Eames. The film depicts the relative scale of the Universe in factors of ten (see also logarithmic scale and order of magnitude). The film is an adaptation of the 1957 book Cosmic View by Kees Boeke, and more recently is the basis of a new book version. Both adaptations, film and book, follow the form of the Boeke original, adding color and photography to the black and white drawings employed by Boeke in his seminal work.

Sarah Pickering is a London based, British photographer who graduated from the Royal College of Art with a MA in Photography in 2005. She has been the recipient of several awards including the Photographers Gallery Graduate Award and a Jerwood Award in 2005. Sarah has exhibited internationally and in the UK where her work was part of How We Are: Photographing Britain, at Tate Britain, and is currently on show in the photography gallery of the V&A museum. Her work is featured in many publications including the Phaidon anthology on contemporary photography, ‘Vitamin Ph’, and the catalogue and exhibition, Manipulating Reality, (Centro di Cultura Contemporanea Strozzina Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi, Florence). Forthcoming projects include a monograph published by Aperture and a solo exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago. Gallery representation is with Meessen de Clercq, Brussels.
